I am a Clinical Psychologist and a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have 12 years of experience working in the behavioral/mental health field. My formal education includes a Bachelor’s of Art in Psychology, a Master’s of Science in Applied Psychology, a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology. I am a former Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.
I began my career working in a behavioral health psychiatric hospital, and later worked in the outpatient sector. I have experience with coordinating community support services; providing psychosocial rehabilitation, life skills training, and psychoeducation; and as an advocate for individuals by acting as their liaison. Currently, I provide professional counseling services to adolescents and adults. I work with individuals, couples, parents, and families to resolve personal, psychological, behavioral, and social problems. I promote personal growth, self-domination, positive character, and healthy living.
Samina utilizes a psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approach. She also utilizes: a Mindfulness Meditation approach to anxiety and depression; John Gottman's methods in couples' therapy; and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s Standards of Care when working with transsexual, transgender, and gender nonconforming individuals, as well as with the LGBTQ community.
I find joy in reading, journaling, cleaning, traveling, listening to music, playing baseball, and spending time with my family and close friends. I am an Oklahoma City, OK native. I resided in Houston, Texas for 12 years and Atlanta, Georgia for a short period; and currently live in the Dallas metroplex with my husband and two children.
